Commentary
on the Koran:
Surah 4 “Women”

Surah 4 follows on from Surah 3 which deals with the organisation of
the priesthood. This text is termed Women as it deals with the rights of the
families that were identified after the Battle of Mt. Uhud for the widows and
orphans after the Battle of Mt. Uhud and then deals with their positions as the
human families who are then part of the Bride of Christ.

Chapter 4 deals with the fidelity of the Church to Christ and the
Seventh Commandment.
Exodus
20:14 You shall not commit adultery.
Verse 1 relates to
Adam and Eve, and also to the Fifth Commandment and duty to the family.
Thus we have
proceeded to the family and the responsibility to the creation from Adam and
Eve and the Human Host on to the development of the faith in fidelity to the
Temple of God and the Messiah as High Priest of Melchisdek. We proceed from the
sanctification of the Ruddy, or reddish, heifer to the Golden or Glorified
elect from Surah 2 (as Q002), to the Family of Prophets
and Priests as sons of Imram and Yochebed
of the elect in Surah 3 (Q003). We now go to the fidelity
of the human species to God and to the family and the faith in Surah 4 (Q004)
as the Bride of Christ. Thus the title is Woman as mother of mankind and as the
Bride of Christ which is the Church of God. The text deals with “Women’s
Rights” as the core of the family in raising the young and its protection.
The Surah was allegedly
given after the Battle of Uhud and takes the sequence on in its logical
conclusion in the development of the faith. The losses incurred at the Battle
of Mt. Uhud necessitated the matter of the care of widows and orphans being
addressed and the lessons to be drawn from that problem within the Laws of God
in Scripture. It reportedly occurs
between the end of the Third year and the end of the Fifth year of the reign of
the council under the prophet at Al-Medinah (cf Noldeke). Pickthall notes
Noldeke but states it is more likely between the end of the Third year and the beginning of the Fifth year in his
introduction to S4.
The statement regarding
the orphans follows on from the loss of the troops but also the Pagan Arabs did
not accord rights to women, as they do not do so to this day, even while
claiming to be Muslims, which claims are false. Thus the text follows on to the
Rights of Women under Scripture also.
The losses at Uhud
were primarily caused by the defection of the “Hypocrites” which comprised some
third of their number as we saw in the introduction to Surah 3. This term then
became applied to lukewarm or time serving people among the faith. In the last
days one of the two elements of the church that are to be removed from the
First Resurrection are the Lukewarm of the Laodiceans in addition to the “Dead“
of the “Living” Churches of the Sardis system of the Last Days (see the paper The Pillars of Philadelphia (No.
283)).
4.1. O mankind! Be careful of your duty to
your Lord Who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate and
from them twain hath spread abroad a multitude of men and women. Be careful of
your duty toward Allah in Whom ye claim (your rights) of one another, and
toward the wombs (that bare you). Lo! Allah hath been a watcher over you.
Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in his own image, in the
image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28And
God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and
fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and
over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the
earth."
Genesis
2:7 then the
LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the
breath of life; and man became a living being.
Genesis 2:21-23 So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall
upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place
with flesh; 22and the rib which the LORD God had taken from the man
he made into a woman and brought her to the man. 23Then the man
said, "This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall
be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."
1Corinthians
7:3-4 The
husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to
her husband. 4For the wife does not rule over her own body, but the
husband does; likewise the husband does not rule over his own body, but the
wife does.
Psalm
139:13-14 For
thou didst form my inward parts, thou didst knit me together in my mother's
womb. 14I praise thee, for thou art fearful and wonderful. Wonderful
are thy works! Thou knowest me right well;
God made man and from man made He the

Psalm 127:3 Lo, sons are a heritage from the LORD, the
fruit of the womb a reward.
Verse 2 deals with
inheritance and widows and orphans.
4.2. Give unto orphans their wealth.
Exchange not the good for the bad (in your management thereof) nor absorb their
wealth into your own wealth. Lo! that would be a great sin.
James 1:27 Religion that is pure and
undefiled before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in
their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
Exodus 22:22-24 You shall not mistreat any widow
or fatherless child. 23If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to
me, I will surely hear their cry, 24and my wrath will burn, and I
will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your
children fatherless. (ESV)
Job 29:12 because I delivered the poor who
cried, and the fatherless who had none to help him.
Do not misappropriate what is due to orphans. Do not deal with them unjustly, nor
deal with widows unjustly. Under biblical law only four wives were permitted to
be taken as wives under the law as captives in war and if they could not be
cared for then only one was permitted and that falls under biblical law.
Polygamy is no longer permitted under the law of the faith from the time of
Messiah.
4.3. And if ye fear that ye will not deal
fairly by the orphans, marry of the women, who seem good to you, two or three
or four; and if ye fear that ye cannot do justice (to so many) then one (only)
or (the captives) that your right hands possess. Thus it is more likely that ye
will not do injustice.
4.4. And give unto the women (whom ye
marry) free gift of their marriage portions; but if they of their own accord
remit unto you a part thereof, then ye are welcome to absorb it (in your
wealth).
4.5. Give not unto the foolish (what is in)
your (keeping of their) wealth, which Allah hath given you to maintain; but
feed and clothe them from it, and speak kindly unto them.
4.6. Prove orphans till they reach the
marriageable age; then, if ye find them of sound judgment, deliver over unto
them their fortune; and devour it not by squandering and in haste lest they
should grow up Whoso (of the guardians) is rich, let him abstain generously
(from taking of the property of orphans); and whoso is poor let him take
thereof in reason (for his guardianship). And when ye deliver up their fortune
unto orphans, have (the transaction) witnessed in their presence. Allah
sufficeth as a Reckoner.
4.7. Unto the men (of a family) belongeth a
share of that which parents and near kindred leave, and unto the women a share
of that which parents and near kindred leave, whether it be little or much - a
legal share.
4.8. And when kinsfolk and orphans and the
needy are present at the division (of the heritage), bestow on them therefrom
and speak kindly unto them.
4.9. And let those fear (in their behaviour
toward orphans) who if they left behind them weak offspring would be afraid for
them. So let them mind their duty to Allah, and speak justly.
4.10. Lo! Those who devour the wealth of
orphans wrongfully, they do but swallow fire into their bellies, and they will
be exposed to burning flame.
Man should marry just one wife: that is
the ideal situation from 1Timothy 3:2.
Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife,
sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, (ESV)
Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man leaves his father and his
mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Hebrews 13:4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and
let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the immoral and
adulterous.
Give all what is due; deal fairly with everyone. Both the
males and female orphans have rights under the law and their inheritance is to
be protected along with those taken as wives through war or otherwise. No women can be taken as sex slaves and those
that take them are to be punished under biblical law (see the papers Law and the Sixth Commandment
(No. 259); Law and the Seventh Commandment
(No. 260) and also Law and the Fifth Commandment
(No. 258)).
Leviticus 19:15 You shall do no injustice in judgment; you
shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness
shall you judge your neighbor.
Deuteronomy 15:11 For the poor will never cease out of the
land; therefore I command you, You shall open wide your hand to your brother,
to the needy and to the poor, in the land.
Proverbs 13:22 A good man leaves an
inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for
the righteous.
We are to provide
for the orphans, widows, the poor and the needy among us. We are to deal justly
with all for we are accountable for all that we do.
1Timothy 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his
relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith
and is worse than an unbeliever.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 The end of the matter; all has
been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of
man. 14For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every
secret thing, whether good or evil.
4.11.
Allah chargeth you concerning (the provision for)
your children: to the male the equivalent of the portion of two females, and if
there be women more than two, then theirs is two-thirds of the inheritance, and
if there be one (only) then the half. And to each of his parents a sixth of the
inheritance, if he have a son; and if he have no son and his parents are his
heirs, then to his mother appertaineth the third; and if he have brethren, then
to his mother appertaineth the sixth, after any legacy he may have bequeathed,
or debt (hath been paid). Your parents and your children: Ye know not which of
them is nearer unto you in usefulness. It is an injunction from Allah. Lo! Allah
is Knower, Wise.
4.12
And unto you
belongeth a half of that which your wives leave, if they have no child; but if
they have a child then unto you the fourth of that which they leave, after any
legacy they may have bequeathed, or debt (they may have contracted, hath been
paid). And unto them belongeth the fourth of that which ye leave if ye have no
child, but if ye have a child then the eighth of that which ye leave, after any
legacy ye may have bequeathed, or debt (ye may have contracted, hath been
paid). And if a man or a woman have a distant heir (having left neither parent
nor child), and he (or she) have a brother or a sister (only on the mother's
side) then to each of them twain (the brother and the sister) the sixth, and if
they be more than two, then they shall be sharers in the third, after any
legacy that may have been bequeathed or debt contracted) not injuring (the
heirs by willing away more than a third of the heritage) hath been paid. A
commandment from Allah. Allah is Knower, Indulgent.
Deuteronomy
21:15-17 If a man has two wives, the one loved and the other disliked, and they
have borne him children, both the loved and the disliked, and if the first-born
son is hers that is disliked, 16then on the day when he assigns his
possessions as an inheritance to his sons, he may not treat the son of the
loved as the first-born in preference to the son of the disliked, who is the
first-born, 17but he shall acknowledge the first-born, the son of
the disliked, by giving him a double portion of all that he has, for he is the
first issue of his strength; the right of the first-born is his.
Numbers
27:7-11 The daughters of Zelophehad are right; you shall give them possession
of an inheritance among their father's brethren and cause the inheritance of
their father to pass to them. 8And you shall say to the people of
Israel, 'If a man dies, and has no son, then you shall cause his inheritance to
pass to his daughter. 9And if he has no daughter, then you shall
give his inheritance to his brothers. 10And if he has no brothers,
then you shall give his inheritance to his father's brothers. 11And
if his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his
kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it. And it
shall be to the people of Israel a statute and ordinance, as the LORD commanded
Moses.
[If there are no children left to the house
as was the case with Abraham then inheritance is permitted to others also.]
Genesis 15:2
But Abram said, “O Lord GOD, what will you give me, for
I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”
4.13. These are the
limits (imposed by) Allah. Whoso obeyeth Allah and His messenger, He will make
him enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow, where such will dwell forever.
That will be the great success.
4.14. And whoso disobeyeth
Allah and His messenger and transgresseth His limits, He will make him enter
Fire, where he will dwell for ever; his will be a shameful doom.
Ayat 4.13 refers to those of the First Resurrection and 4.14 to those
of the Second Resurrection and failure to repent is to the death and the
cremation of the Lake of Fire from which there is no repentance and withdrawal.
That death is final.
Daniel 12:2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
Revelation 20:11-15 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
4.15.
As for those of your women who are guilty of lewdness, call to witness four of
you against them. And if they testify (to the truth of the allegation) then
confine them to the houses until death take them or (until) Allah appoint for
them a way (through new legislation).
4.16.
And as for the two of you who are guilty thereof, punish them both. And if they
repent and improve, then let them be. Lo! Allah is ever relenting, Merciful.
Leviticus chapter
20:10-21 lists the punishments for sexual immorality.
4.17. Forgiveness is only incumbent on Allah
toward those who do evil in ignorance (and) then turn quickly (in repentance)
to Allah. These are they toward whom Allah relenteth. Allah is ever Knower,
Wise.
4.18. The forgiveness is not for those who
do ill-deeds until, when death attendeth upon one of them, he saith: Lo! I
repent now; nor yet for those who die while they are disbelievers. For such We
have prepared a painful doom.
2Chronicles 7:14 if my people who are called by my name
humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Ezekiel 18:21-22 But if a wicked man turns away from all his
sins which he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is lawful
and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 22 None of the
transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the
righteousness which he has done he shall live.
Ezekiel 33:14-16 Again, though I say to the wicked, 'You
shall surely die,' yet if he turns from his sin and does what is lawful and
right, 15 if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has
taken by robbery, and walks in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he
shall surely live, he shall not die. 16 None of the sins that he has
committed shall be remembered against him; he has done what is lawful and
right, he shall surely live.
Psalm 147:5 Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.
4.19. O
ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor
should ye treat them with harshness, that ye may Take away part of the dower ye
have given them,-except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the
contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a
dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and Allah brings about
through it a great deal of good. (Yusuf Ali)
4.20.
But if ye decide to take one wife in place of another, even if ye had given the
latter a whole treasure for dower, Take not the least bit of it back: Would ye
take it by slander and manifest wrong? (Yusuf Ali)
4.21.
And how could ye take it when ye have gone in unto each other, and they have
Taken from you a solemn covenant? (Yusuf Ali)
Deuteronomy 24:1-4 When a man takes a wife and marries her, if
then she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her,
and he writes her a bill of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out
of his house, and she departs out of his house, 2and if she goes and
becomes another man's wife, 3and the latter husband dislikes her and
writes her a bill of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his
house, or if the latter husband dies, who took her to be his wife, 4then
her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife,
after she has been defiled; for that is an abomination before the LORD, and you
shall not bring guilt upon the land which the LORD your God gives you for an
inheritance.
Malachi 2:16 For I
hate divorce, says the LORD the God of Israel, and covering one's garment with
violence, says the LORD of hosts. So take heed to yourselves and do not be
faithless.
1Peter 3:7 Likewise, husbands, live with your
wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel,
since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may
not be hindered.
4.22. And marry not women whom your
fathers married,- except what is past: It was shameful and odious,- an
abominable custom indeed.
4.23. Prohibited to you (For marriage)
are:- Your mothers, daughters, sisters; father's sisters, Mother's sisters;
brother's daughters, sister's daughters; foster-mothers (Who gave you suck),
foster-sisters; your wives' mothers; your step-daughters under your
guardianship, born of your wives to whom ye have gone in,- no prohibition if ye
have not gone in;- (Those who have been) wives of your sons proceeding
from your loins; and two sisters in wedlock at one and the same time, except
for what is past; for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful;-
Leviticus 18:7-17
You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, which is the
nakedness of your mother; she is your mother, you shall not uncover her
nakedness. 8 You shall not uncover the nakedness
of your father’s wife; it is your father’s nakedness. 9You
shall not uncover the nakedness of your sister, your father’s daughter or your
mother’s daughter, whether brought up in the family or in another home. 10You shall not uncover the
nakedness of your son’s daughter or of your daughter’s daughter, for their
nakedness is your own nakedness. 11You
shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, brought up in
your father’s family, since she is your sister. 12You
shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister; she is your father’s
relative. 13You shall not uncover the
nakedness of your mother’s sister, for she is your mother’s relative. 14You shall not uncover the
nakedness of your father’s brother, that is, you shall not approach his wife;
she is your aunt. 15You
shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law; she is your son’s
wife, you shall not uncover her nakedness. 16You
shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife; it is your brother’s
nakedness. 17You shall not uncover the
nakedness of a woman and of her daughter, and you shall not take her son’s
daughter or her daughter’s daughter to uncover her nakedness; they are
relatives; it is depravity.
Leviticus
20.10-21 If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the
adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death. 11The man who
lies with his father's wife has uncovered his father's nakedness; both of them
shall be put to death, their blood is upon them. 12If a man lies
with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall be put to death; they have
committed incest, their blood is upon them. 13If a man lies with a
male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be
put to death, their blood is upon them. 14If a man takes a wife and
her mother also, it is wickedness; they shall be burned with fire, both he and
they, that there may be no wickedness among you. 15If a man lies
with a beast, he shall be put to death; and you shall kill the beast. 16If
a woman approaches any beast and lies with it, you shall kill the woman and the
beast; they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them. 17"If
a man takes his sister, a daughter of his father or a daughter of his mother,
and sees her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, it is a shameful thing, and
they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people; he has
uncovered his sister's nakedness, he shall bear his iniquity. 18If a
man lies with a woman having her sickness, and uncovers her nakedness, he has
made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood; both
of them shall be cut off from among their people. 19You shall not
uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister or of your father's sister, for
that is to make naked one's near kin; they shall bear their iniquity. 20If
a man lies with his uncle's wife, he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness; they
shall bear their sin, they shall die childless.

4.24. Also
(prohibited are) women already married, except those whom your right hands
possess: Thus hath Allah ordained (Prohibitions) against you: Except for these,
all others are lawful, provided ye seek (them in marriage) with gifts from your
property,- desiring chastity, not lust, seeing that ye derive benefit from
them, give them their dowers (at least) as prescribed; but if, after a dower is
prescribed, agree Mutually (to vary it), there is no blame on you, and Allah is All-knowing, All-wise. (Yusuf Ali)
4.25. If any of you
have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women, they may wed
believing girls from among those whom your right hands possess: And Allah hath
full knowledge about your faith. Ye are one from another: Wed them with the
leave of their owners, and give them their dowers, according to what is
reasonable: They should be chaste, not lustful, nor taking paramours: when they
are taken in wedlock, if they fall into shame, their punishment is half that
for free women. This (permission) is for those among you who fear sin; but it
is better for you that ye practise self-restraint. And Allah is Oft-forgiving,
Most Merciful. (Yusuf Ali)
4.26. Allah doth wish
to make clear to you and to show you the ordinances of those before you; and
(He doth wish to) turn to you (In Mercy): And Allah is All-knowing, All-wise. (Yusuf Ali)
4.27. Allah doth wish
to Turn to you, but the wish of those who follow their lusts is that ye should
turn away (from Him),- far, far away. (Yusuf Ali)
Hebrews 13:4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and
let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the immoral and
adulterous.
2Corinthians 6:14 Do not be mismated with unbelievers. For
what partnership have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light
with darkness?
1Corinthians 7:2 But because of the temptation to immorality,
each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.
Exodus 22:16 If a man seduces a virgin who is not betrothed,
and lies with her, he shall give the marriage present for her, and make her his
wife.
Do the moral or right thing every time and stay away from
trouble.
4.28. Allah
would make the burden light for you, for man was created weak.
4.29. O
ye who believe! Squander not your wealth among yourselves in vanity, except it
be a trade by mutual consent, and kill not one another. Lo! Allah is ever
Merciful unto you.
4.30.
Whoso doeth that through aggression and injustice, we shall cast him into Fire,
and that is ever easy for Allah.
Psalm 144:4 Man is like a breath, his days are like a
passing shadow.
Matthew 11:28-30 Come
to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take
my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and
you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my
burden is light.
1Peter 4:10 as each has received a gift, employ it for
one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:
Luke 12:15 And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” (ESV)
The
parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30 shows us to increase our investments
through wise management.
Also Exodus 20:13 says
“You shall not murder” and these texts regulate our conduct.
Isaiah 59:7 their feet run to evil, and they make haste
to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, desolation and
destruction are in their highways.
Daniel 9:9 To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him
Your evil deeds will consign you to the Second Resurrection.
4.31.
If ye avoid the great (things) which ye are forbidden, We will remit from you
your evil deeds and make you enter at a noble gate.
Ezekiel 33:11 Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?
Acts 3:19 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,
Matthew 7:14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard,
that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

(No. 259). The forgiveness referred to here is the redemption that
leads to the end result of eternal life after the Resurrections in the City of God (No. 180).
4.32. And covet not the thing in which Allah
hath made some of you excel others. Unto men a fortune from that which they
have earned, and unto women a fortune from that which they have earned. (Envy
not one another) but ask Allah of His bounty. Lo! Allah is ever Knower of all
things.
James 4:2-3 You desire and do not have; so you kill. And
you covet and cannot obtain; so you fight and wage war. You do not have,
because you do not ask. 3You ask and do not receive, because you ask

In a marital dispute having arbiters representing both parties should
lead to an equitable resolution.
Luke 8:17 For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light.

4.36. And serve Allah.

4.39. What have they
(to fear) if they believe in Allah and the Last Day and spend (aright) of that
which Allah hath bestowed upon them, when Allah is ever Aware of them (and all

4.43. O ye who
believe! Draw not near unto prayer when ye are drunken, till ye know that which

The Scriptural injunction to prayer is to conduct it in
private unless you are in the open on operations as we see below in the text re
parties. The ayat 4:43 refers to cleanliness for prayer. The text in Mathew
refers to the privacy of the individual.
Matthew 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room and
shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who
sees in secret will reward you.
James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to one another,
and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man
has great power in its effects.
Leviticus 10:9 Drink no wine nor strong drink, you nor your
sons with you, when you go into the tent of meeting, lest you die; it shall be
a statute for ever throughout your generations.
We as priests are not to be intoxicated while on official
duty.
4.44.
Seest thou not those unto whom a portion of the Scripture hath been given, how
they purchase error, and seek to make you (Muslims) err from the right way?
Isaiah 28:13 Therefore the word of the LORD will be to
them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon
line, here a little, there a little; that they may go, and fall backward, and
be broken, and snared, and taken.
2Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as
one approved, a workman who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the
word of truth.
2Peter 3:16-17 as he does in all his letters
when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are
hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own
destruction, as they do the other Scriptures. 17You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you
are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own
stability.
4.45.
Allah knoweth best (who are) your enemies. Allah is sufficient as a Guardian,
and Allah is sufficient as a Supporter.
Proverbs 16:7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he makes
even his enemies to be at peace with him.
2Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to
think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; (KJV)
The Holy Spirit is
required to understand the Scriptures and the Koran and thus proper adult baptism
is mandatory to any genuine and informed study of the OT, NT or the Koran. The
Apochrypha, the Talmud and Hadith or Kabbalah are all totally uninspired.
4.46. Some of those
who are Jews change words from their context and say: "We hear and
disobey; hear thou as one who heareth not" and "Listen to us!"
distorting with their tongues and slandering religion. If they had said:
"We hear and we obey: hear thou, and look at us" it had been better
for them, and more upright. But Allah hath cursed them for their disbelief, so
they believe not, save a few.
2Peter 3:16 speaking of this as he does in all his

Acts 17:11 Now these Jews were more noble than

The Jews continued
from the Fall of the Temple and the Mishnah ca 200 CE to turn the Scriptures
into false doctrine through what became the Talmud.
4.47. O ye unto whom
the Scripture hath been given! Believe in what We have revealed confirming that
which ye possess, before We destroy countenances so as to confound them, or
curse them as We cursed the Sabbath-breakers (of old time). The commandment of Allah
is always executed.
As listeners we have a duty
to verify what preachers may say with the Scriptures so they do not lead us
astray with their lies.
Exodus 20:8-11 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9Six
days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10but the seventh day is
a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your
son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your
livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. 11For in six
days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and
rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made
it holy.
2Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is inspired by God and
profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in
righteousness, 17that the man
of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I have come to abolish the
law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them.
Numbers 15:36 And all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, as the LORD commanded Moses.
The man was killed for breaking the Sabbath for gathering
sticks for firewood at the order of the Angel of the Presence at Sinai which we
know for certain was Isa or Jesus Christ (1Cor. 10:4 and Acts 7).
2Kings 17:18-20 Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel and removed them out of his sight. None was left but the tribe of Judah only. 19Judah also did not keep the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the customs that Israel had introduced. 20And the LORD rejected all the descendants of Israel and afflicted them and gave them into the hand of plunderers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
2Kings 23:27 And the LORD said, “I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and I will cast off this city that I have chosen, Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.”
4.48.
Lo! Allah forgiveth not that a partner should
be ascribed unto Him. He forgiveth (all) save that to
whom He will. Whoso ascribeth partners to Allah, he hath indeed invented a
tremendous sin.
This verse refers to the First Commandment.
Exodus 20:3 "You shall have
no other gods before me.
Isaiah 45:5-6 I am the LORD, and there is no other,
besides me there is no God; I gird you, though you do not know me, 6 that men may know, from the
rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the
LORD, and there is no other.
Deuteronomy 32:39a See
now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me;
Asserting another
god or elohim beside Eloah or Allah is idolatry. All the leaders of the entire Churches
of God of the 20th and 21st centuries that sprung from
the Ditheism or Binitarianism of Armstrongism in Christianity, and with the
polytheism of the Hadith and Shia variable theology of the Sheiks or Imams and
Sufi Mystics will be put to death by or at the coming of the Messiah and the
First Resurrection. None of them or their blind followers will enter the
Kingdom of God (see the papers Ditheism (No. 076) and Binitarian
and Trinitarian Misrepresentation of the Early Theology of the Godhead (No.
127B)).
4.49. Hast thou not
seen those who praise themselves for purity? Nay, Allah purifieth whom He will,
and they will not be wronged even the hair upon a date- stone.

whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

2Corinthians 11:7 Did I commit a sin in abasing myself so that
you might be exalted, because I preached God's gospel without cost to you? (cf.
Ex. 9:17)
Romans 8:28-30 And we know that for those who
love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according
to his purpose. 29For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to
be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn
among many brothers. 30And those whom he predestined he also called,
and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also
glorified.
The calling is according to the Prescience
of God and He determines and predestines who is to be called and placed within
the body of the Messiah, and from thence
Justified and Glorified and where they stand in the Kingdom and the City of
God.
4.50. See, how they invent lies about Allah!
That of itself is flagrant sin.
Acts 20:30 and from among your own selves will arise
men speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.
(cf. As above in 2Peter 3:16 regarding the Scriptures, which these unstable minds twist to their own destruction. The Sunna would even eradicate or invalidate the entire Scriptures to conceal the truth in the Qur’an. Well do they deserve the Crescent Moon of the horns of the Golden Calf of the god Qamar above their mosques) (cf. The Golden Calf (No. 222). Indeed it is they that Allah’ has cursed as below).
4.51.
Hast thou not seen those unto whom a portion of the Scripture hath been given,
how they believe in idols and false deities, and how they say of those
(idolaters) who disbelieve: "These are more rightly guided than those who
believe"?
4.52. Those are they whom Allah hath cursed, and he whom Allah hath cursed,
thou (O Muhammad) wilt find for him no helper.
4.53.
Or have they even a share in the Sovereignty? Then in that case, they would not
give mankind even the speck on a date-stone.
4.54.
Or are they jealous of mankind because of that which Allah of His bounty hath
bestowed upon them? For We bestowed upon the house of Abraham (of old) the
Scripture and wisdom, and We bestowed on them a mighty kingdom.
4.55.
And of them were (some) who believed therein and of them were (some) who turned
away from it. Hell is sufficient for (their) burning.

4.56.
Lo! Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire. As
often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that
they may taste the torment. Lo! Allah is ever Mighty, Wise.

punishments for sin (i.e the Rod and the Lash) that scourge the flesh are
referred to in this text.]
4.57.
And as for those who believe and do good works, We shall make them enter
Gardens underneath which rivers flow - to dwell therein for ever; there for
them are pure companions - and We shall make them enter plenteous shade.
[These are the
Resurrections to Eternal Life in the Knowledge of the One True God and Isa, the
Messiah, whom He sent (Jn. 17:3).]
Righteousness and
justice (Tsedek) are required of us all.
4.58.
Lo! Allah commandeth you that ye restore deposits to their owners, and, if ye
judge between mankind, that ye judge justly. Lo! comely is this which Allah
admonisheth you. Lo! Allah is ever Hearer, Seer.
It is according to the Laws of God which are His nature that the world was created and by which it is judged.
Revelation 4:11 "Worthy art thou, our Lord and God, to
receive glory and honor and power, for thou didst create all things, and by thy
will they existed and were created."
Deuteronomy 7:6 For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.
Physical Israel pointed towards the future Israel that will be a
mightier nation of all mankind. Those who curse the inheritance of The Morning
Star or the Day Star of Israel, the Messiah (Num. 24:17), will be destroyed as
was Egypt destroyed at the Red Sea. The sons of Shem that seek to destroy
Israel shall destroy their own inheritance and kill their own progeny.
Genesis 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, and him
who curses you I will curse; and by you all the families of the earth shall
bless themselves.
Galatians 3:26-29 for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God,
through faith. 27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ
have put on Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is
neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one
in Christ Jesus. 29And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's
offspring, heirs according to promise.
Matthew 25:34 Then the King will say to those at his right
hand, 'Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from
the foundation of the world;
Matthew 25:46 And they will go away into eternal punishment,
but the righteous into eternal life.
Ezekiel 18:7-9 ... does not oppress any one, but restores to
the debtor his pledge, commits no robbery, gives his bread to the hungry and
covers the naked with a garment, 8 does not lend at interest or take
any increase, withholds his hand from iniquity, executes true justice between
man and man, 9 walks in my statutes, and is careful to observe my
ordinances--he is righteous, he shall surely live, says the Lord GOD.
Obedience in Islam as the
Church of God
Those of Islam are to obey the faith and the apostle or messenger of the
Muhhamad or council of the Churches of God sent to them.
4.59. O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and
obey the messenger and those of you who are in authority; and if ye have a
dispute concerning any matter, refer it to Allah and the messenger if ye are
(in truth) believers in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and more seemly
in the end.
Hebrews 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to
them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to
give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
1Corinthians 6:1-5 When one of you has a grievance against a
brother, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous instead of the saints? 2Do
you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be
judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? 3Do you not
know that we are to judge angels? How much more, matters pertaining to this
life! 4If then you have such cases, why do you lay them before those
who are least esteemed by the church? 5I say this to your shame. Can
it be that there is no man among you wise enough to decide between members of
the brotherhood,
4.60. Hast thou not seen those who pretend that they
believe in that which is revealed unto thee and that which was revealed before
thee, how they would go for judgment (in their disputes) to false deities when
they have been ordered to abjure them? Satan would mislead them far astray.
When
so called believers go before the courts they are going to pagans to resolve
their disputes.
4.61. When it is said
to them: "Come to what Allah hath revealed, and to the Messenger.: Thou
seest the Hypocrites avert their faces from thee in disgust. (Yusuf Ali)
4.62. How then, when
they are seized by misfortune, because of the deeds which their hands have sent
forth? Then they come to thee, swearing by Allah. "We meant no more than
good-will and conciliation!" (Yusuf Ali)
4.63.
Those men,-(Allah) knows what is in their hearts; so keep clear of them, but
admonish them, and speak to them a word to reach their very souls. (Yusuf Ali)
God makes the rules and we follow them because He knows what is good
for his creation.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 Again I saw that under the sun the race is
not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor
riches to the intelligent, nor favor to the men of skill; but time and chance
happen to them all.
1Timothy 5:24 The sins of some men are conspicuous,
pointing to judgment, but the sins of others appear later.
When recompense is due and coming some
still do not understand, but should be made to see judgment. When many are told
they do not like or understand the fact.
Isaiah 29:15 Woe to those who hide deep from the LORD
their counsel, whose deeds are in the dark, and who say, "Who sees us? Who
knows us?"
4.64. We sent not a
messenger, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the will of Allah. If they had
only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto thee and asked Allah’s
forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have
found Allah indeed Oft-returning, Most Merciful. (Yusuf Ali)
1Kings 20:35-36 And a certain man of the sons of the
prophets said to his fellow at the command of the LORD, "Strike me, I
pray." But the man refused to strike him. 36Then he said to
him, "Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon
as you have gone from me, a lion shall kill you."
2Chronicles
20:20b.
"Hear me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the LORD your
God, and you will be established; believe his prophets, and you will
succeed."
Saul did not follow Samuel's instructions
and lost the kingship (1Samuel 15). It is the common position of the Bible and the Koran
to obey the prophets and the elders of the Faith once delivered which is the
body of the Messiah.
4.65.
But nay, by thy Lord, they will not believe (in truth) until they make thee
judge of what is in dispute between them and find within themselves no dislike
of that which thou decidest, and submit with full submission.
Exodus 18:16-24 when they have a dispute, they come to me
and I decide between a man and his neighbor, and I make them know the statutes
of God and his decisions." 17Moses' father-in-law said to him,
"What you are doing is not good. 18You and the people with you
will wear yourselves out, for the thing is too heavy for you; you are not able

over the people as rulers of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens. 22And
let them judge the people at all times; every great matter they shall bring to
you, but any small matter they shall decide themselves; so it will be easier
for you, and they will bear the burden with you. 23If you do this,
and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all this people
also will go to their place in peace." 24So Moses gave heed to
the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said.
Deuteronomy 17:9-13 and coming to the Levitical priests, and to
the judge who is in office in those days, you shall consult them, and they
shall declare to you the decision. 10Then you shall do according to
what they declare to you from that place which the LORD will choose; and you
shall be careful to do according to all that they direct you; 11According to the instructions that they give you, and according to
the decision which they pronounce to you, you shall do. You shall not turn
aside from the verdict that they declare to you, either to the right hand or to
the left. 12The
man who acts presumptuously by not obeying the priest who stands to minister
there before the Lord your God, or the judge,
that man shall die. So you shall purge the evil from Israel. 13And all the people shall hear
and fear and not act presumptuously again.

And if We had decreed for them: Lay down your lives or go forth from your
dwellings, but few of them would have done it; though if they did what they are
exhorted to do it would be better for them, and more strengthening;

the few that obeyed God and his reward will be immense.

in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso
fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall
bestow a vast reward.
4.75. How should ye
not fight for the cause of Allah and of the feeble among men and of the women
and the children who are crying: Our Lord! Bring us forth from out this town of
which the people are oppressors! Oh, give us from thy presence some protecting
friend! Oh, give us from Thy presence some defender!

but whoever loses his life will preserve it.

Our Lord! Why hast Thou ordained fighting for us? If only Thou wouldst give us
respite yet a while! Say (unto them, O Muhammad): The comfort of this world is
scant; the Hereafter will be better for him who wardeth off (evil); and ye will not be wronged the
down upon a date-stone.

The Council of the Church (who is the Muhammad) was sent to lead mankind
through the Sign of Jonah over the Forty Jubilees in the wilderness until 2027.
The Muhammad is appointed and leads the church yearly over the 144,000 of the
elect and the Great Multitude of its Baptism (cf. Rev. ch. 7).
4.79 Whatever of
good befalleth thee (O man) it is from Allah, and whatever of ill befalleth
thee it is from thyself. We have sent thee (Muhammad) as a messenger unto
mankind and Allah is sufficient as Witness. Some things happen to us because of
our own folly.
4.80. Whoso obeyeth the messenger hath obeyed Allah,
and whoso turneth away: We have not sent thee as a warder over them.

over you, and they would have fought you: Therefore if they withdraw from you
but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah

Israel and the faith were not to fight people who signed a peace treaty
with them as the nation Israel, and offered them guarantees that they are for
peace. So also is it with the Churches of God and all of Islam.
4.91. Others you will
find that wish to gain your confidence as well as that of their people: Every
time they are sent back to temptation, they succumb thereto: if they withdraw
not from you nor give you (guarantees) of peace besides restraining their
hands, seize them and slay them wherever ye get them: In their case We have
provided you with a clear argument against them. (Yusuf Ali)
[Those who went back on the peace treaty were to be shown no mercy.]
4.92. It is not for a
believer to kill a believer unless (it be) by mistake. He who hath killed a
believer by mistake must set free a believing slave, and pay the blood- money
to the family of the slain, unless they remit it as a charity. If he (the
victim) be of a people hostile unto you, and he is a believer, then (the
penance is) to set free a believing slave. And if he cometh of a folk between
whom and you there is a covenant, then the blood-money must be paid unto his
folk and (also) a believing slave must be set free. And whoso hath not the
wherewithal must fast two consecutive months. A penance from Allah. Allah is
Knower, Wise.
If they did not desire peace nor offered any peace guarantees or they
went back on the peace treaty the enemy were to be killed otherwise they must
be protected.
Exodus 20:13 You shall not murder. (ESV)
Joshua 20:3 that the manslayer who strikes any person without intent or unknowingly may flee there. They shall be for you a refuge from the avenger of blood.

to the cities of Refuge which must be set up under the Laws of God. Sharia law is forbidden to Islam and is not
the law of God.

Exodus 21:32 If the ox gores a slave, male or female, the
owner shall give to their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be
stoned.
The price of a slave is set at thirty shekels of silver
which was the price paid for Messiah. Ayat 4.92 seems to expound further on
that.
4.93.
Whoso slayeth a believer of set purpose, his reward is hell (sheol) forever
[that is to the Second Resurrection]. Allah is wroth against him and He hath
cursed him and prepared for him an awful doom.
[Killing intentionally is murder which would mean the
murderer will lose his life and be consigned to the Second Resurrection under
severe instruction.]
4.94. O
ye who believe! When ye go abroad in the cause of Allah, investigate carefully,
and say not to any one who offers you a salutation: "Thou art none of a
believer!" Coveting the perishable goods of this life: with Allah are
profits and spoils abundant. Even thus were ye yourselves before, till Allah
conferred on you His favours: Therefore carefully investigate. For Allah is
well aware of all that ye do. (Yusuf

James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

4.95. Those of the believers who sit still,
other than those who have a (disabling) hurt, are not on an equality with those
who strive in the way of Allah with their wealth and lives. Allah hath
conferred on those who strive with their wealth and lives a rank above the
sedentary. Unto each Allah hath promised good, but He hath bestowed on those
who strive a great reward above the sedentary;
4.96. Degrees of rank from Him, and
forgiveness and mercy. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.

such, their habitation will be hell [Sheol or the grave and the Second Resurrection],
an evil journey's end;
4.98. Except the feeble among men, and the
women, and the children, who are unable to devise a plan and are not shown a
way.
4.99. As for such, it may be that Allah will
pardon them. Allah is ever Clement, Forgiving.

bearing arms: the Unbelievers wish, if ye were negligent of your arms and your
baggage, to assault you in a single rush. But there is no blame on you if ye
put away your arms because of the inconvenience of rain or because ye are ill;

Nehemiah 4:16-17 From that day on, half of my servants worked
on construction, and half held the spears, shields, bows, and coats of mail;
and the leaders stood behind all the house of Judah, 17who were
building on the wall. Those who carried burdens were laden in such a way that
each with one hand labored on the work and with the other held his weapon. ]

performed the act of worship, remember Allah, standing, sitting and reclining.
And when ye are in safety, observe proper worship. Worship at fixed times hath
been enjoined on the believers.

Satan and his
minions can only do what God allows them to do.

4.114. There is no
good in much of their secret conferences save (in) him who enjoineth almsgiving

good pleasure of Allah, We shall bestow on him a vast reward.
4.115. And whoso
opposeth the messenger after the guidance (of Allah) hath been manifested unto
him, and followeth other than the believer's way, We appoint for him that unto
which he himself hath turned, and expose him unto hell - a hapless journey's
end!
God will bring all things to light, even the darkness cannot hide
things from Him.

4.116. Lo! Allah pardoneth not that partners should be ascribed unto Him. He
pardoneth all save that to whom He will. Whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah

4.117. They invoke in His stead only females; they pray to none else than
Satan, a rebel
4.118. Whom Allah cursed, and he said: Surely I will take of Thy bondmen an
appointed portion,

chooseth Satan for a patron instead of Allah is verily a loser and his loss is

Exodus 20:3 You shall have no other gods before me.

The pagans pay
devotion to many female deities instead of serving God Almighty. We were the bondsmen of
Satan before being called out of this world. We are now the chosen Peter refers
to. Those deceived by Satan and do his bidding are consigned to the Second
Resurrection.
Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was thrown down, that
ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole
world--he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with
him.
Satan has deceived the world and the elect has been called out of his
deception into light.
4.122. But as for
those who believe and do good works We shall bring them into Gardens underneath
which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever. It is a promise from Allah
in truth; and who can be more truthful than Allah in utterance?
The reward of the elect is the First Resurrection and eternal life.
Revelation 20:4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were
those to whom judgment was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had
been beheaded for their testimony to Jesus and for the word of God, and who had
not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads
or their hands. They came to life, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
4.123. It will not be in accordance with your
desires, nor the desires of the People of the Scripture. He who doeth wrong
will have the recompense thereof, and will not find against Allah any
protecting friend or helper.
4.124.
And whoso doeth good works, whether of male or female, and he (or she) is a
believer, such will enter paradise and they will not be wronged the dint in a
date- stone.
Ezekiel 18:20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.
Romans 2:6-7 He will render to each one according to his works: 7 to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.
The wrongdoers will be sent to the Second Resurrection
and the White Throne Judgement to face intensive corrective training and
judgement whereas those who do good works receive eternal life.
4.125.
Who is better in religion than he who surrendereth his purpose to Allah while
doing good (to men) and followeth the tradition of Abraham, the upright? Allah
(Himself) chose Abraham for friend.
4.126.
Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the
earth. Allah ever surroundeth all things.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist
the devil and he will flee from you.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust

Psalm 89:6-8 For who in the skies can be compared to the
LORD? Who among the heavenly beings is like the LORD, 7 a God feared
in the council of the holy ones, great and terrible above all that are round

4.127. They consult thee concerning women.
Say: Allah giveth you decree concerning them, and the Scripture which hath been
recited unto you (giveth decree), concerning female orphans and those unto whom
ye give not that which is ordained for them though ye desire to marry them, and
(concerning) the weak among children, and that ye should deal justly with
orphans. Whatever good ye do, lo! Allah is ever Aware of it.
Deuteronomy 24:17 You shall not pervert the justice due to the
sojourner or to the fatherless, or take a widow's garment in pledge;
Jeremiah 22:3 Thus says the LORD: Do justice and
righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been
robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the alien, the fatherless, and the
widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.
Deuteronomy 16:11 and you shall rejoice before the LORD your
God, you and your son and your daughter, your manservant and your maidservant,
the Levite who is within your towns, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the
widow who are among you, at the place which the LORD your God will choose, to
make his name dwell there.
Render to all of what is due to them.
Withholding someone’s share is equal to coveting what rightfully belongs to them
and a breach of the law of God.
4.128.
If a woman feareth ill treatment from her husband, or desertion, it is no sin
for them twain if they make terms of peace between themselves. Peace is better.
But greed hath been made present in the minds (of men). If ye do good and keep
from evil, lo! Allah is ever Informed of what ye do.
4.129.
Ye will not be able to deal equally between (your) wives, however much ye wish
(to do so). But turn not altogether away (from one), leaving her as in
suspense. If ye do good and keep from evil, lo! Allah is ever Forgiving,
Merciful.
4.130.
But if they separate, Allah will compensate each out of His abundance. Allah is
ever All-Embracing, All-Knowing.
1Corinthians 7:10-15 To the married I give charge, not I but the
Lord, that the wife should not separate from her husband 11(but if
she does, let her remain single or else be reconciled to her husband)--and that
the husband should not divorce his wife. 12To the rest I say, not
the Lord, that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents
to live with him, he should not divorce her. 13If any woman has a
husband who is an unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she should not
divorce him. 14For the unbelieving husband is consecrated through
his wife, and the unbelieving wife is consecrated through her husband.
Otherwise, your children would be unclean, but as it is they are holy. 15But
if the unbelieving partner desires to separate, let it be so; in such a case
the brother or sister is not bound. For God has called us to peace.
Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply every
need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
The gardens
referred to here are both the First Resurrection and the Second Resurrection which
is 1000 years after the First Resurrection. During the Second Resurrection all
mankind will be judged. Many of the Muslims scholars understand that fact. Some
reduce the period between the resurrections because they do not read Revelation
chapter 20.
4.131. Unto Allah
belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And We
charged those who received the Scripture before you, and (We charge) you, that
ye keep your duty toward Allah. And if ye disbelieve, lo! unto Allah belongeth
whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and Allah is ever
Absolute, Owner of Praise.
4.132. Unto Allah
belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And Allah
is sufficient as Defender.
4.133. If He will, He
can remove you, O people, and produce others (in your stead). Allah is Able to
do that.
4.134. Whoso desireth
the reward of the world, (let him know that) with Allah is the reward of the
world and the Hereafter. Allah is ever Hearer, Seer.
4.135. O ye who
believe! Be ye staunch in justice, witnesses for Allah, even though it be
against yourselves or (your) parents or (your) kindred, whether (the case be
of) a rich man or a poor man, for Allah is nearer unto both (them ye are). So
follow not passion lest ye lapse (from truth) and if ye lapse or fall away,
then lo! Allah is ever Informed of what ye do.
4.136. O ye who
believe! Believe in Allah and His messenger and the Scripture
which He hath revealed unto His messenger, and the Scripture which He
revealed aforetime. Whoso disbelieveth in Allah and His angels and His
scriptures and His messengers and the Last Day, he verily hath wandered far
astray.
[The Scriptures are not lost
and there are to be more prophets in the Last Days.]
4.137. Lo! those who
believe, then disbelieve and then (again) believe, then disbelieve, and then
increase in disbelief, Allah will never pardon them, nor will He guide them
unto a way.
4.138. Bear unto the
hypocrites the tidings that for them there is a painful doom;
4.139. Those who chose
disbelievers for their friends instead of believers! Do they look for power at
their hands? Lo! all power appertaineth to Allah.
4.140. He hath already
revealed unto you in the Scripture that, when ye hear the revelations of Allah
rejected and derided, (ye) sit not with them (who disbelieve and mock) until
they engage in some other conversation. Lo! in that case (if ye stayed) ye
would be like unto them. Lo! Allah will gather hypocrites and disbelievers, all
together, into hell;
1Chronicles 29:11-12 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the
power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the
heavens and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art
exalted as head above all. 12Both riches and honor come from thee,
and thou rulest over all. In thy hand are power and might; and in thy hand it
is to make great and to give strength to all.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
Romans 11:17-22
But if some
of the branches were broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, were grafted in
their place to share the richness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast over the branches.
If you do boast, remember it is not you that support the root, but the root
that supports you. 19You will say, "Branches were broken off so
that I might be grafted in." 20That is true. They were broken
off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast only through faith. So do not
become proud, but stand in awe. 21For if God did not spare the
natural branches, neither will he spare you. 22Note then the

unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and
what communion hath light with darkness? (KJV)
Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the
counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat
of scoffers;
The reader is told in 4.136 that due regard
must be given to all Scripture including the Scripture revealed earlier; a
clear reference to the Old Testament and the New Testament. The prophets of the
Last Days are sent and they use the scriptures still available (Jer. 4:15-16;
Rev. 11:3 ff).

Those who wait upon occasion in regard to you and, if a victory cometh unto you
from Allah, say: Are we not with you? and if the disbelievers meet with a
success say: Had we not the mastery of you, and did we not protect you from the
believers? - Allah will judge between you at the Day of Resurrection, and Allah
will not give the disbelievers any way (of success) against the believers.

Ephesians 4:14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed
to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of
men, by their craftiness in deceitful wiles.
4.144. O ye who
believe! Choose not disbelievers for (your) friends in place of believers.
Would ye give Allah a clear warrant against you?
4.145. Lo! the
hypocrites (will be) in the lowest deep of the Fire, and thou wilt find no helper
for them;
James 4:4 You adulterous people! Do you not know that
friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a

Matthew 7:6 Do not give dogs what is holy; and do not
throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under foot and turn to

this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would
need to go out of the world. 11But now I am writing to you not to
associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual
immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even

2Corinthians 6:14-16 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
4.146. Save those who
repent and amend and hold fast to Allah and make their religion pure for Allah
(only). Those are with the believers. And Allah will bestow on the believers an
immense reward.
4.147. What concern
hath Allah for your punishment if ye are thankful (for His mercies) and believe
(in Him)? Allah was ever Responsive, Aware.
Psalm 37:27 Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell forever. 28 For the LORD loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world but be
transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of
God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Hebrews 10:23-24 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.

disbelieve in Allah and His messengers, and seek to make distinction between Allah
and His messengers, and say: We believe in some and disbelieve in others, and

4.152. But those who
believe in Allah and His messengers and make no distinction between any of
them, unto them Allah will give their wages; and Allah was ever Forgiving,

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I have come to abolish the law

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, without
revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.
All of the messengers come from the same master so we make no
distinction between them. The following ayats from previous Surahs confirm this.
2.136. Say (O Muslims): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed
unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and
Jacob, and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received, and that which
the prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of
them, and unto Him we have surrendered.
2.285. The messenger believeth in that which hath been revealed unto him
from his Lord and (so do) believers. Each one believeth in Allah and His angels
and His scriptures and His messengers - We make no distinction between any of
His messengers - and they say: We hear, and we obey. (Grant us) Thy
forgiveness, our Lord. Unto Thee is the journeying.
3.84. Say (O Muhammad): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and that which was vouchsafed unto Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered.
4.153. The people of
the Scripture ask of thee that thou shouldst cause an (actual) Book to descend
upon them from heaven. They asked a greater thing of Moses aforetime, for they
said: Show us Allah plainly. The storm of lightning seized them for their
wickedness. Then (even) after that) they chose the calf (for worship) after
clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) had come unto them. And We forgave them
that! And We bestowed on Moses evident authority.
Matthew 12:39 But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

The story of the Golden Calf is in Exodus 32 and in
the paper The Golden Calf
(No. 222). The setting aside of the Seventy (Two) by the Angel of the
Presence we know as Jesus Christ, who gave the law to Moses at Sinai, was a key
element of the faith. This Being, as Elohim of Israel, consecrated the Seventy
(Two) at Sinai and replaced them with the Seventy (Two) of the church at Luke
16:1-17. His actions were integral to the
authority of the Faith and the laws of God and the establishment of Justice
with Israel and the Church of God or Eloah, the One True God. Christ as Messiah
then, by 30 CE, sent them out as ordained officers of the Church to the
Gentiles.
The next text refers directly to the swearing in or
induction of the Sanhedrin and as the entry to their holy estate in humility
which occurred both at Sinai and after their ordination and their receipt of
the Holy Spirit at Pentecost in 30 CE. This text refers to the Covenant taken
by the leaders of the faith both as Sanhedrin and as the Muhammad or council of
the church to whom all authority has been granted. These are the baptized and
ordained members of the Church of God that have ruled the as the Muhammad and
Muhammadan for two millennia as the baptized and anointed officers under the
councils. To be a servant of God in the priesthood of Melchisedek under Messiah
one must be validly baptized and ordained to the councils (cf. Commentary
on Hebrews (F058)).
Note that it is at 4.154 that the Qur’an commands the
Sabbath and the Fourth Commandment as the key element of the Covenant and the
re-iteration of the covenant and again mentions the gate which is the text of
the gates of the City of God following on from the Resurrections and the entry
through the gates of pearls in Revelation chapters 20, 21, and 22 (cf. also the
paper The City of God (No. 180)).
4.154. And We caused the Mount to tower above
them at (the taking of) their covenant: and We bade them: Enter the gate,
prostrate! and We bode them: Transgress not the Sabbath! and We took from them
a firm covenant.
Exodus 23:12 You are to do your work for six days, but on
the seventh day you are to refrain from work so that your ox and donkey may
rest, and so the son of your maidservant and the alien may be refreshed. (ISV)
The covenant was confirmed in
Exodus chapter 24:7-8.
Exodus 24:7-8 He took the Book of the Covenant and read it
to the people. They said, "All that the LORD has spoken we will do and
obey." 8Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people, and
said, "This is the blood of the covenant which the LORD made with you
based on all these words." (ISV)
The towering of the Mount refers to the
prelude in Exodus chapter 19 before the giving of the Ten Commandments as
recorded in chapter 20. That giving of
the Ten Commandments was the basis of the Covenant as the Law with God. For

The destruction of Israel and its being sent into captivity and the
wilderness at Sinai for forty years and the Wilderness of the Forty Jubilees of
the Church of Eloah, under the Sign of Jonah as prophesied by Daniel and by
Messiah, was directly related to the breach of the covenant and the church was
only of a few (see the paper The Sign of Jonah and the History of
the Reconstruction of the Temple (No. 013)).
4.155. Then because of their breaking of
their covenant, and their disbelieving in the revelations of Allah, and their
slaying of the prophets wrongfully, and their saying: Our hearts are hardened -
Nay, but Allah set a seal upon them for their disbelief, so that they believe
not save a few-
Jeremiah 11:10 They have turned back to the iniquities of
their forefathers, who refused to hear my words; they have gone after other
gods to serve them; the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my
covenant which I made with their fathers.
Matthew 23:37 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, killing the
prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered
your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you
would not!
Matthew 13:14-15 With them indeed is fulfilled the prophecy
of Isaiah which says: 'You shall indeed hear but never understand, and you
shall indeed see but never perceive. 15For this people's heart has
grown dull, and their ears are heavy of hearing, and their eyes they have
closed, lest they should perceive with their eyes, and hear with their ears,
and understand with their heart, and turn for me to heal them.'
4.156. And because of their disbelief and of
their speaking against Mary a tremendous calumny;
The people of Mariam would have claimed
that she was unchaste, an allegation that was without any basis whatsoever.
4.157. And because of their saying: We slew
the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor
crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree
concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit
of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.
4.158. But Allah took him up unto Himself. Allah
was ever Mighty, Wise.
Luke 24:7 'The Son of Man must be handed over to
sinful men, be crucified, and rise on the third day.’ (ISV)
Acts
3:15 and you
killed the source of life, whom God raised from the dead. We are witnesses to

1Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered to you as of first
importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance
with the scriptures,
The Jews may have claimed they had killed
him but deny he was resurrected by God.
We are aware that Christ appeared to his
followers after his death and resurrection so some may have claimed that he did
not die a natural death. Verse 4.158 states that God had resurrected Christ
unto himself.
Jude 1:25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
Romans 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!

There is not one of the People of the Scripture but will believe in him before
his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them -

Because of the wrongdoing of the Jews We forbade them good things which were
(before) made lawful unto them, and because of their much hindering from Allah's

And of their taking usury when they were forbidden it, and of their devouring
people's wealth by false pretences, We have prepared for those of them who

The Jews may not have
believed that he was the Messiah and on the day of Resurrection he will testify
against them.
Matthew 25:41 Then he will say to those at his left hand,
'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and
his angels;
Mark 7:8 You leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men.
Isaiah 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this
people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me,
but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by

Ayat 4.160 appears to be a reference to the fact that because of their
disobedience and idolatry they were not allowed to keep the Feasts of God and
they were allowed to drift into further error by following another calendar.
This applied both to Judaism at the fall of the Temple and with the apostates
of Islam when they changed the Calendar after the Four Rightly Guided Caliphs
(cf. the papers God’s
Calendar (No. 156) and The Hebrew and Islamic Calendar
Reconciled (No. 053)).
Proverbs 28:8 He who augments his wealth by interest and
increase gathers it for him who is kind to the poor.
James 5:1-6 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the
miseries that are coming upon you. 2Your riches have rotted and your
garments are moth-eaten. 3Your gold and silver have rusted, and
their rust will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You
have laid up treasure for the last days. 4 Behold, the wages of the
laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the
cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. 5You
have lived on the earth in luxury and in pleasure; you have fattened your
hearts in a day of slaughter. 6You have condemned, you have killed
the righteous man; he does not resist you.
As a result of the unlawful actions they were to be consigned to the
Second Resurrection.
4.162. But those of them who are firm in
knowledge and the believers believe in that which is revealed unto thee, and
that which was revealed before thee, especially the diligent in prayer and
those who pay the poor-due, the believers in Allah and the Last Day. Upon these
We shall bestow immense reward.

is told to believe in the earlier revelations the OT and the NT Scriptures.

unto eternal life in the First Resurrection (cf. the paper Tithing (No. 161)).

mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and
acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Romans 8:29-32 For those whom he foreknew he also
predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be
the first-born among many brethren. 30And those whom he predestined
he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he
justified he also glorified. 31What then shall we say to this? If
God is for us, who is against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son
but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him?
4.163. Lo! We inspire thee as We inspired
Noah and the prophets after him, as We inspired Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac

and as We imparted unto David the Psalms;

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I have come to abolish the

Anyone who asserts
that the One True God Eloah, Elahh, or Allah’ issues wrong Scriptures or loses or cannot
control His own Scriptures, whether from the law He gave to the Patriarchs and
at Sinai or through Messiah and the Church, is an infidel and at the return of
the Messiah will be killed and sent to the Second Resurrection as we see below.
4.167. Lo! those who
disbelieve and hinder (others) from the way of Allah, they verily have wandered
far astray.
4.168. Lo! those who
disbelieve and deal in wrong, Allah will never forgive them, neither will He
guide them unto a road,
4.169. Except the road
of hell, wherein they will abide for ever. And that is ever easy for Allah.
Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven
against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who by their wickedness suppress
the truth.
Romans1:32 Though they know God's decree that those who
do such things deserve to die, they not only do them but approve those who
practice them.
Titus 1:10-11 For there are many insubordinate men, empty

must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for base

Acts 20:30 Indeed, some of your own men will arise and

The Second Death is the final end of those
who blaspheme the Holy Spirit and deny the plan of God. That is the Hell which
is the final end of the unrepentant, the Gehenna fire.
4.170. O Mankind! The
Messenger hath come to you in truth from Allah. believe in him: It is best for
you. But if ye reject Faith, to Allah belong all things in the heavens and on
earth: And Allah is All-knowing, All-wise. (Yusuf

Mankind is presented with a choice. If they believe in the message it
will be good for them. If they do not they go to the Second Resurrection. It is
no loss to Allah. He owns everything. As we have said the blessings for
obedience and curses for disobedience are seen at Deuteronomy 28.
4.171. O People of the
Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the
truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary (Mariam) was (no more than) an apostle of Allah,
and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so
believe in Allah and His apostles. Say not "Trinity": desist: it will
be better for you: for Allah is one Allah. Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He)
above having [procreating] a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and
on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs. (Yusuf Ali)
Hence God created Christ by Divine fiat and not by physical procreation
as some had asserted.

Christ was the result of God saying Be and
he came to be. He was not conceived in the normal human way. God is one God and
not a trinity or a binity, nor is He a ditheist pair as claimed by mainstream Christianity
and the last of some of the Churches of God, nor is he a Sabellianist heresy as
some claim.

sisters, they shall have two-thirds of the inheritance (between them): if there
are brothers and sisters, (they share), the male having twice the share of the
female. Thus doth Allah make clear to you (His law), lest ye err. And Allah

This was the last dictum of this Surah 4 to tie a matter that appeared
to be arising from it after the Surah was issued following the battle of Mt.
Uhud and the law regarding widows and orphans and their in heritance was explained.
