Sabbath 15/13/36/120

Dear Friends

Last week we dealt with the corruption of the doctrines on the Nature of God in the Churches over the Millennia. In that message we pointed out the fact that the Church of God (SD) Denver Conference has collapsed theologically into Binitarianism and then gone into Trinitarianism. One of the people of the Churches of God who follows them wrote to us and drew our attention to the Bible Advocate issue that they thought showed the church leaders were going further into the Triune system. I read articles from the Issue and I noticed that they seem to have swallowed the nonsense that Christ ate the Passover meal with the apostles at the beginning of 14 Abib. Now they should know better than that but it seems that their adoption of Binitarianism and their progression into Trinitarianism in 1999 seems also to be clouding their understanding of everything else.  Calvin Burrell admits in that issue in his article regarding Jesus as God that they did declare Binitarianism in 1994.  That is only correct in the sense that they had to get rid of Roy Marrs as the editor of the Bible Advocate to be able to publish their declarations and that only really started in any real strength in 1995.  However they confirmed the Sabbath year 1994/5 in which they commenced the heresy as had been stated.  alvin's article listed a series of texts in which Christ had been declared as God in the Bible. One of the texts was 1Tim. 3:16 which is a very well known forgery in two different inks in Codex A in which the word "who" as the uncial O was altered to Theta Sigma as an abbreviation for the word Theos.  The other texts are also known misrepresentations such as 1John 5:20.  The texts that show the true position of Christ were all conspicuously omitted from the text as it would destroy the purpose of the paper he had written misrepresenting the position of Christ as a Binitarian/Trinitarian God.  The references are in the BA url at http://baonline.org/Issues/Flip/BA-2014-2_March-April/index.html. It is sad and very significant that the COG (SD) Denver Conference has collapsed so greatly in its understanding of the Nature of God and that organisation is not alone.

We have noticed that many people who have been exposed to the Churches of God have no real understanding of the place of Christ in the sons of God. They continually fall into the error of elevating Christ above the other sons of God and do not properly understand his position.  It is this error that has been used to drive a wedge and a condition of ignorance and stupidity among the Churches of God. These ministers and plants sent among us have corrupted the Churches of God to the extent that the church is barely able to perform its proper function in the Last Days and two complete eras are lost to the First Resurrection, save as individuals.

It is important to understand that Christ was a son of God among the entire host of the sons of God from before the creation of the world. Radical Unitarians try to claim that Christ had no pre-existence before his placement in the womb of Mariam and his physical birth. The Bible is quite clear that this is an error and has no basis in Scripture. This matter has been examined in the work The Pre-existence of Jesus Christ (No. 243).

The Bible is quite clear that Christ was the Angel of the Presence that was with Israel in the wilderness in the Exodus (1Cor. 10:4).

His purpose for humanity is explained in the text: The Purpose of the Creation and the Sacrifice of Christ (No. 160).

His position in the creation is explained in the text: Arche of the Creation of God as Alpha and Omega (No. 229).

Christ was created by his God who was Eloah (SHD 433) the equivalent of the Chaldean Elahh (SHD 426).

With the creation of Christ and the other sons of God, the Elohim were created and thus the Family of God came into being; see How God Became a Family (No. 187).

Job clearly states that the Morning Stars were present with all the sons of God when the earth was created (Job 38:4-7) and they came before Eloah the One True God at least at the time of Job and Satan was among them (Job 1:6; 2:1). These texts cannot be avoided.  Nor can the fact that Eloah allocated the nations according to the sons of God and the Yahovah of Israel or Christ was allotted to Israel (Deut. 32:8; see RSV and LXX and DSS).

The purpose of the human creation was to become Elohim; see The Elect as Elohim (No. 1).  As the Psalms say and as quoted by Christ: "It is written in your law I said ye are gods, children of the Most High all of you" and Christ did not blaspheme when he declared himself son of God (Jn. 10:34-36). Scripture cannot be broken.

Christ was a son of his God and they were both elohim but the One True God was Eloah, The God or Ha Elohim.  See the text in Psalm 45 (No. 177)See also the text in Psalm 110 (No. 178).

Understanding the names of God is a bit more complex than the Trinitarians would like us to believe. If the Churches God all understood it they would not be misled by incompetent and badly trained officers. There are many names that have specific purposes and it is important that they are understood and the purposes are clearly understood also. In that way we are not sucked into the "Sacred Names" nonsense. See the paper The Etymology of the Name of God (No. 220) and also the papers The Name of God in Islam (No. 54)and The Names of God (No. 116).

Remember there is only ONE True God, and He sent Jesus Christ, and on this understanding depends eternal life (Jn. 17:3).

The Passover is coming on us next month and we need to repent of all error and prepare for the Lord's Supper. Remember that this error is the central breach of the Laws of God in breach of the First Commandment.  Breach one law and you breach the Law entire.

Study this matter and be ready to give an explanation of the hope that lies within you.

Go to your brothers and be reconciled to them and then be ready to wash their feet and eat the bread and drink the wine of the Lord's Supper. Try to get as many of us as is possible to properly understand the fundamentals of the Nature of God so that they may inherit the Kingdom of God in the First Resurrection.
