Sabbath 18/12/34/120

Dear Friends,

I noticed that many people who have been exposed to the Churches of God have no real understanding of the place of Christ in the sons of God. They continually fall into the error of elevating Christ above the other sons of God and do not properly understand his position.

It is important to understand that Christ was a son of God among the entire host of the sons of God from before the creation of the world. Radical Unitarians try to claim that Christ had no pre-existence before his placement in the womb of Mariam and his physical birth. The Bible is quite clear that this is an error and has no basis in Scripture. This matter has been examined in the work The Pre-existence of Jesus Christ (No. 243).

The Bible is quite clear that Christ was the Angel of the Presence that was with Israel in the wilderness in the Exodus (1Cor. 10:4).

His purpose for humanity is explained in the text: The Purpose of the Creation and the Sacrifice of Christ (No. 160).

His position in the creation is explained in the text: Arche of the Creation of God as Alpha and Omega (No. 229).

Christ was created by his God who was Eloah (SHD 433) the equivalent of the Chaldean Elahh (SHD 426).

With the creation of Christ and the other sons of God, the Elohim were created and thus the Family of God came into being; see How God Became a Family (No. 187).

The purpose of the human creation was to become Elohim; see The Elect as Elohim (No. 1).  As the Psalms say and as quoted by Christ: “It is written in your law I said ye are gods, children of the Most High all of you” and Christ did not blaspheme when he declared himself son of God (Jn. 10:34-36). Scripture cannot be broken.

Christ was a son of his God and they were both elohim but the One True God was Eloah, The God or Ha Elohim.  See the text in Psalm 45 (No. 177)See also the text in Psalm 110 (No. 178).

Understanding the names of God is a bit more complex than the Trinitarians would like us to believe. There are many names that have specific purposes and it is important that they are understood and the purposes are clearly understood also. In that way we are not sucked into the “Sacred Names” nonsense. See the paper The Etymology of the Name of God (No. 220) and also the papers The Name of God in Islam (No. 54)and The Names of God (No. 116).

Remember there is only ONE True God, and He sent Jesus Christ, and on this understanding depends eternal life (Jn. 17:3).

Study this matter and be ready to give an explanation of the hope that lies within you.
