Dear Friends,

This Sabbath is the last Sabbath of Elul and we will then commence the month of Tishri on the Day of Trumpets, on the sixth day termed Friday from 11 September 2026, and move on to Atonement and the start of the 120th Jubilee year. This is a very significant period in history. CCG will commence the Reading of the Law for the 5th time on this Day of Trumpets. If the Two Witnesses are not here for this Reading it is very likely that they will be here for the following Reading in 2027 and the Declaration of the Acceptable Year of the Lord which will be the two Thousandth Anniversary of the Messiah’s declaration of 27 CE. This declaration by the Christ was the reinforcement of Law given by Christ to Moses and Aaron and all Israel at the Exodus as we are told in Acts 7:30-43- and 1Cor 10:1-4. From this year onwards, under the Witnesses, it is to continue onwards forever under the Priesthood of Melchizedek (Nos. 128; 300k). 

Deuteronomy 31:9-13 says:
And Moses wrote this law, and gave it to the priests the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel. 10  And Moses commanded them, "At the end of every seven years, at the set time of the year of release, at the feast of booths, 11  when all Israel comes to appear before the LORD your God at the place which he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. 12  Assemble the people, men, women, and little ones, and the sojourner within your towns, that they may hear and learn to fear the LORD your God, and be careful to do all the words of this law, 13  and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as you live in the land which you are going over the Jordan to possess."

It is therefore appropriate that before we commence this Reading of the Law, we study the paper Reading the Law with Ezra and Nehemiah (No. 250). With the major study of the Day of Trumpets we will begin the sequence of the Introduction to the Law (L1A) and the  First and Second Great Commandments. On the Sabbath (a double Sabbath) of 2 Tishri we will commence the First Commandment (No.253). We will complete the First Commandment on the Fast of the Tenth Day of the Seventh Month, the Day of Atonement (also a double Sabbath).
