Sabbath 26/02/47/120 

Dear Friends,

Today is the 26th Day of the Second Month 47/120.  It is the 42nd day of the Omer Count to Pentecost.  The paper for study this Sabbath is the text on The Golden Calf (No. 222).

This week we will reissue also the work on The Temple Calendar from Adam to Israel and the Early Church (No. 156H) due to some odd comments by some opposed to the promulgation of the ability for the ancients to have determined Latitude and Longitude ca. 200BCE. This text will be added to the section dealing with the Piris Reis map. It deals with a computer developed and used by the Ancient Greeks ca 200 BCE. The relic was found in the early 20th century but its significance was not realised until later on in the 20th century and then, as is often the case, overlooked by modern science until recently.

This 2,000-year-old mechanism, found in a shipwreck off the Greek island of Antikythera in the early 20th century and then forgotten until the 1950s, is the first known computer in history. To be exact, it’s the first scientific calculator, with an intricate system of gears that can calculate with incredible precision — remember, it was built circa 200 BCE — the position of the sun, moon, and planets by entering the date. It’s a remarkable discovery of ancient engineering.

This shows us without doubt that the ancients had this capacity and hence the capacity to determine Longitude at 200 BCE.

Inductions in the South Sudan
Bizimana Bosco has just returned from the Inductions in the South Sudan and submitted his report. He says that there are manned military roadblocks all over South Sudan and many empty villages. He says that Juba City has hundreds of goat and cattle herds but little outside the city. Also costs are very expensive. He has appointed officers for the South Sudan, and he will enter the Sudan to induct another group there soon. We have commenced an Arabic language system for the translations into Arabic and the expansion of the work in the Arabic speaking areas.

Stats
The US has overtaken China as the number one country of access with increases of tens of thousands of computers and greater hits. So also is Saudi Arabia third in hits per country. This week we will also see the New Moon of the Third Month, Sivan, on Wednesday and we will study the Ascents of Moses (No. 070) and next weekend will be the Feast of Weeks and Pentecost.   So we have a lot to do. We hope to be able to cover a lot this Pentecost from the New Moon onwards regarding the history of the church and the release of new videos.

We hope to be able to give more news regarding the emerging conflicts over this period also.
