Dear Friends,

Hadithic Islam teaches that the earth is flat in much the same way that the Roman Catholic Church taught that error for centuries.  The RCs even had Galileo Galilei declared a heretic because he said it was round  and not flat.  He was held to be a heretic and is still declared a heretic so as not to impeach the doctrine of papal infallibility because a pope declared him to be so on the grounds that the earth was flat according to RC teaching.

A PhD student has submitted her thesis under her professor as supervisor and it is being taken seriously: https://www.elitereaders.com/phd-student-flat-earth-thesis/

From where does all this nonsense come?

The Koran reportedly says in one of its translations used to prop up its flat earth theory:

Sura Al-Kahf (18:86)
Until, when he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a spring of black muddy (or hot) water. And he found near it a people. We (Allâh) said (by inspiration): "O Dhul-Qarnain! Either you punish them, or treat them with kindness."

Does it say this or what does it say?  What is the text all about?  Why would the translators lie about it?

Sura Al-Kahf (18:90)
Until, when he came to the rising place of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We (Allâh) had provided no shelter against the sun.

Does it say this or simply refer to the rising of the sun in the far east?  What is the purpose of the text?  Again why do they misrepresent it?

Next:
Sura Yasin (36:38)
And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.

Does it say this? What is the purpose of the text?

Sura Yasin (36:40)
It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit.

What is the purpose of this text and what does it mean or designate? It is a true text?

Sura An-Naml (27:61)
Who has made the earth habitable, caused rivers to run through it, placed on it mountains, and has created a barrier between the two waters. Is it another god with God? Indeed most of them do not know (Rashid Khalifa).

This text was used to replace one on which the flat earther’s rely and placed at the end. What is the real purpose of the text?

This text refers to a Biblical problem and deals with two aspects of the creation. The original creation in Job 38:4-7, 8-40).  The earth became tohu and bohu; but it was not created that way.  How do we know that?  And there was a recreation necessary as we see from Genesis 1 and the Trinitarians tried to assert that Christ was the original creator of the earth from this text.  This text refutes that assertion and it was God that created the earth.  The Hadithic Muslims do not even comprehend the issue involved.

All these verses allegedly support a Flat earth model that the Quran is describing.

I ask you to read these Suras in their entirety. Other proof texts that the Quran thinks the Earth is Flat http://www.islam-watch.org/…/Proof-Quran-thinks-Earth-is-Fl… < Video Proof here > Muslim scientist says world is flat and the sun revolves around the earth because Quran says so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g84g2KJcUV0. Proof that the Quran thinks the Earth is Flat http://www.islam-watch.org/.../Proof-Quran-thinks-Earth...

Look at the texts in Job re the creation: Job. 38:4-7 and 8-40.

Isaiah 40:22 Khoog (SHD 2329) uses the word “circle” to describe the earth but is not definitive enough to prove the description as an orb.

To properly understand the primary creation we have to read Job’s reply to Bildad in 26:1-27:10. In 26:10 we again see the sense of compassing the bounds but the correct text is in the footnotes to Bullinger which says the round horizon bounds the water’s face and there the fading light with darkness blends.  The Koran refers to these texts in its explanation but Hadithic Muslim translations fail to come to grips with the Scriptures.

As an exercise in Bible study please add to these texts with Scriptures explaining the creation and if you add scriptures make sure that the texts used are not Trinitarian forgeries of the KJV or if they are why they are.

What science exists to explain these texts. How can we dismiss this Hadithic heresy from the Scriptures alone?
