Sabbath 08/4/40/120A

Dear Friends,

Surah 7 takes its name from words in v. 46 “And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks.”  This text often is used to term the Surah as “Purgatory” (e.g. Rashad Khalifa) as the general theme is that of those who oppose the Will of God from Satan on down through the ages and of Divine Guidance. They are thus removed from the First Resurrection and sent to the Second Resurrection which requires them to wait for another thousand years after the Millennium. Hence the Trinitarian pseudo-Christian concept of Purgatory in being in a position of waiting for judgment is introduced.

Pickthall considers that the best authorities all assign the text to be from the same period as Surah 6, which is the Prophet’s last year in Mecca. Although he says that some consider that vv. 163-167 may have been revealed at Al-Madinah.

This is being issued with Surah 6 so we can hopefully build the momentum of the releases of the Commentary on the Koran to at least two Surah’s a week.

Hopefully the Churches of God will be jolted out of their idolatrous Ditheist and Binitarian heresies they absorbed from the US under Armstrongism and the idolatrous worship claiming a co-equal and coeternal Christ (see the papers Ditheism (No. 076B) and Binitarian and Trinitarian Misrepresentation of the Early Theology of the Godhead (No. 127B)). At present they are headed for the Second Resurrection as both the Sardis and the Laodicean systems unless they repent. At present their entire ministry and their current membership have never kept a Holy Day on the correct days except by sheer accident when the Hillel Calendar falls on the correct days by fluke (see the papers God’s Calendar (No. 156); Hillel, Bablylonian Intercalations and the Temple Calendar (No. 195C) and the Hebrew and Islamic Calendar Reconciled (No. 053)).  There are none so blind as those who will not see.
