A while ago we examined the prophecy in Daniel 7. That detail is contained in the paper Commentary on Daniel Chapter 7 (No. 299C).
The first section contains the sequence of the prophecy and then the second half contains the explanation.
Daniel 7
[1] In the first year of Belshaz'zar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head as he lay in his bed. Then he wrote down the dream, and told the sum of the matter. [2] Daniel said, "I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea. [3] And four great beasts came up out of the sea, different from one another. [4] The first was like a lion and had eagles' wings. Then as I looked its wings were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand upon two feet like a man; and the mind of a man was given to it. [5] And behold, another beast, a second one, like a bear. It was raised up on one side; it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth; and it was told, `Arise, devour much flesh.' [6] After this I looked, and lo, another, like a leopard, with four wings of a bird on its back; and the beast had four heads; and dominion was given to it.
The sequences are explained in the reference. The First or Babylonian system rose and moved into Europe and the Second was the Russian Bear and its environment and the Third was the Eastern systems and empires. The Russian system is now attempting to arise again after it was forced to disband. That will coincide with the rising of the Eastern Empires to reassert their power and strength. It is in that process that we see the Fourth Beast arise and stamp down these empires. Russia has just invaded the Ukraine which has appealed to the NATO forces for help.
The King of the South or these fundamentalist forces are rising and attempting to take on the Forces of the UN and NATO with Russia and China attempting to block the UN attempts at preventing genocide by invasion. In October and November 2012 we advised of the action escalating in the Middle East and over that time we have watched events unfold so as to force the hand of the King of the North and this mighty Fourth Beast which has been emerging over the last 58 Years from 1956 and the Treaty of Rome.
The power of the US and Britain is the two arms of the military power of this beast that is now formed. NATO is its army and it is the King of the North. Its processes are detailed in Daniel Chapter 11 and the Last Days of the conflicts are covered in Daniel 11:40ff.
It is involved in the Middle East and will now go back in to overflow or fly over again and pass through to deal with these radicals of the Islamic Caliphate. There are now 80,000 armed troops in its ranks and many are being forced into its power and are being destroyed. The UN is calling for it to be destroyed and the NATO forces are mobilizing now for an air war.
The passage in Daniel 11 shows that news from the East and the North will alarm it and it will go out to utterly destroy many. Due north of Jerusalem is the Ukraine and Russia has just invaded the Ukraine and the Ukraine has appealed to NATO to assist it.
Iran has now entered Kurdistan with armour and the areas of Iraq and Syria are erupting further. Syria is now under judgment and correction. We said it would be dealt with by God after the second Passover of this year as it was the Fortieth anniversary since the end of the Yom Kippur war with Syria the last to arrange a cease fire with Israel. Forty years is a period allotted for repentance and they have not repented. From May hostilities escalated and even though the US had declared it had destroyed all Syria’s chemical weapons, we said it had not and this week they again began bombing the rebels with chemical weapons.
This fourth beast is now emerging in full power and has been doing so since 2001 after it was attacked. It entered Afghanistan and then Iraq and will now re-enter Iraq to deal with this monster at the Euphrates basin which is of the fallen host from Tartaros. The air war will now re-commence. This will lead into the War of the Fifth Trumpet and then the news from the North and the East will alarm it and it will go out to utterly destroy many. The news from the East will range from the Middle East to Asia.
[7] After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, terrible and dreadful and exceedingly strong; and it had great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. [8] I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots; and behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.
This Fourth Beast is poised to act in accordance with the plans of the four Angels that are confined at the Euphrates in order to kill a third of mankind. Once this Fourth Beast has returned to the Middle East after the major conflict it will return to occupy Gaza and on up to Jerusalem. We will see the power of the false prophet and Antichrist emerge from this conflict and they move to Jerusalem also.
Gaza under Hamas has just signed a cease fire and agreement with Israel. However, their mindset is beyond peace and they will reorganise and Israel will wipe them out unless the King of the North occupies that area and he will spread his palatial tents there in the occupation as we see from Daniel 11:44-45.
Over this period of 42 months when this power occupies Jerusalem it will be opposed by the witnesses who will stand on the Temple mount clothed in sackcloth for 1260 days. They will deal with the religious system of the world and the Beast and will bring fire and drought and plagues upon the earth in judgment. As they are tried to be killed so will those who try to kill them be killed. Eventually they are killed and lie in the street for 3.5 days and the world rejoices.
Over this time, and specifically from 1987 to the message of the Witnesses, the earth is judged by the Ancient of Days and the Heavenly Host which number 200,000,000 elohim before him.
[9] As I looked, thrones were placed and one that was ancient of days took his seat;
his raiment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, its wheels were burning fire. [10] A stream of fire issued and came forth from before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him;
the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened. [11] I looked then because of the sound of the great words which the horn was speaking. And as I looked, the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given over to be burned with fire.
[12] As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.
Christ is sent to the earth to take it over with the army of the host. He destroys the beast and resurrects the elect. Then the world is taken over and the previous beasts and their peoples are kept for another period of a time or one year and a season or one and a half years after the commencement of the wars of the vials of the wrath of God.
[13] I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. [14] And to him was given dominion
and glory and kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one
that shall not be destroyed.
All nations are then brought to captivity and their false religious systems are completely destroyed by Atonement 2024. The treble harvests of the sixth year of the Seventh cycle of 2025 are then harvested for the 120th Jubilee year from Atonement 2026 to Atonement 2027. In 2028 the millennium starts and these beasts are no more but their people are allocated their inheritance from the jubilee from the Council at Jerusalem.
The nations of Assyria and Israel and Egypt will occupy the areas from Northern Iraq to the Euphrates and then the kingdom of Israel will occupy from the Euphrates to the River of Egypt and from the Mediterranean to the Arabian Desert. Egypt will be given its area from the River of Egypt, which will be 66 km further to the South, to the Sudan.
Ishmael and the sons of Keturah will occupy the Arab Peninsula and Greece and be at peace.
The three nations will be a trading group and tied together by their trade and roads systems in peace. Lebanon and Syria and Gaza and Palestine will be all part of the Kingdom of Israel under Christ and the elect.
