New Moon 1/5/34/120

Dear Friends,

This is the New Moon of the Fifth Month called the month of Ab. God traditionally deals with Israel and the church in this month. The sequence can also be seen in the paper The Ascents of Moses (No. 70).

Many tragedies associated with Israel happened in Ab. Those who were not in step with God were dealt with in this month and the nation suffered much in this month. We in CCG do not normally experience many adverse problems in this month because we are usually trying to do our best. This month will not be a very happy month for some however.

What most impressed me was the tenacity of the brethren in Kenya that continued on in spite of the negligence and dishonesty of the senior officer. Jack and Joash and Jared are in Nairobi now to baptise the senior officers of four different church groups so that they can get on with the business of being integrated to CCG. They have many churches that have been waiting to be inducted to CCG and many groups have been waiting for a couple of years. In all we have some 72 churches that are still to be inducted or are being inducted. It would have been more helpful if we had been kept informed or known about some matters and we could have acted more quickly. However, we have it in hand now and the officers are moving from area to area doing the documentation and inductions we had been informed were being done.

Jack has just come up from Homa Bay and has been visiting the churches there. We knew that we had three churches there in Homa Bay. The fact of the matter was that the whole district was divided up among a series of Coordinators who had simply got on with the gospel and there are in fact 42 churches in the Homa Bay District acting as part of CCG. The churches stretch from Homa Bay to Rodi Kopany and districts through Kwabwayi and Olare out to Ndiwha and towards Mbita. We had no idea of their existence and we were not aware that the coordinator at Mbita had moved to Ndiwa and established seven churches in the district. We thought we had no one there.

There were a number of church groups that have to be removed from our records because they are not genuine but they are more than offset by the 114 churches we did not have recorded and that seems to be increasing all the time now.

Daniel has just returned from establishing a church at Lagos, Nigeria, with Anthony who works as an attorney and at last we have a genuine presence in Nigeria. Daniel will have to go to Liberia to regularise matters there and induct the group of churches there and those in Ghana.

Joash and Jack have to go to Dar es Salaam to induct the people there who have been waiting for some time to be part of CCG. They will return via Dodoma and Mwanza to deal with the groups there that also have been waiting for induction for a long time. Fortunately Joash has known many of them for many years.

These people hung on to the faith and went on working in spite of the problems. God dealt with them.

Please pray for the prosecution of these corrupt people, two of whom I removed for dishonesty over three years ago but have decided to include in the matter now and pray for the rectification of all aspects of the problem.
