Sabbath 8/5/30/120

Dear Friends,

If you think the world is destabilising and getting more and more odd you are right.

Christ said that in the Last Days it will be as it was in the days of Noah, and as it was in the days of Sodom.

The appearance of normalcy is obtained through the day-to-day affairs of men such as taking and giving of wives in marriage and eating and drinking in festivities, as they did in the days of Noah until he entered into the Ark and Christ shut them in and the world of that time was destroyed.

Christ says it will also be like it was in the days of Lot. They ate and drank and planted the fields and built their cities but on the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from the heavens and destroyed them all.

Luke 17:20-37
20 Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; 21 nor will they say, 'Lo, here it is!' or 'There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you." 22 And he said to the disciples, "The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see it. 23 And they will say to you, 'Lo, there!' or 'Lo, here!' Do not go, do not follow them. 24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of man be in his day. 25 But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26 As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of man. 27 They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was in the days of Lot--they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built, 29 but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom fire and sulphur rained from heaven and destroyed them all-- 30 so will it be on the day when the Son of man is revealed. 31 On that day, let him who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away; and likewise let him who is in the field not turn back. 32 Remember Lot's wife. 33 Whoever seeks to gain his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. 35 There will be two women grinding together; one will be taken and the other left." 36 (This verse which says “two men shall be in the field : the one shall be taken and the other left” was inserted in the Receptus and thus appears in the KJV is not found in the ancient texts of the Greek MS and hence must be regarded as another forgery of the Receptus) 37 And they said to him, "Where, Lord?" He said to them, "Where the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together."

Lot was a judge in Sodom, sitting in the gate of the city. He was distressed by the conduct of the citizens. They were indifferent to the welfare and plight of each other and of strangers to the city. They were concerned only with the self and their pleasures, and they lost their lives because of it.

It is the same now.

To emphasise how crazy it is getting, we should examine a news report from Austria published in News.com.au on 17 July from an Agence France-Presse report at http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22085906-23109,00.html

ANYONE in Austria interested in ending their marriage will be able to get all the necessary information to do so at a divorce fair in Vienna on October 27-28.

"It's a world premiere," said Anton Barz, the man behind the project, called New Beginning.

There are six fairs organised in Austria to take place from October over winter and spring 2008. Previously, Barz had run wedding fairs but he was advised of the difficulties people were having over divorce so he turned them into divorce fairs. Saturdays are reserved for men only and Sunday for the women so the couples don’t run into each other.

“Stands will be set up with lawyers, mediators, notaries and psychologists on hand to offer counsel. But exhibitors will also include real estate agents, car salesmen, travel agencies and spa centres in order to offer a true new beginning to divorcees.”

Divorce is violence and obviously it involves selling the house and car and other valuables, as well as the trauma and counselling required. Much of divorce today is caused by aberrant sexual behaviour of both males and females.

What we found staggering about the report was the incredible divorce figures for Austrians in 2006.

"I have already received 600 registrations by email and phone," Mr Barz said.

Although the service was not exclusively for Austrians seeking divorce, he said his hands were already full in a country where 48.9 per cent of married couples chose to end their marriage in 2006. In Vienna alone, the divorce rate was 65.9 per cent.

"Some of the exhibitors will speak English, French, Italian or even Czech or Greek," he said. (Emphasis ours.)

On this report we are led to believe that almost half of all Austrian marriages ended in the year 2006 alone. 65.9% of the city of Vienna were divorced last year, so the reporters alleged.

The figures seem to defy belief. The figures indicate a total breakdown in the family system and with marriage committment specifically.

The European system in these figures seems to be disintegrating as a family-based unit. Even if it is in error and the statistics were over an extended period they are still incredible, but for a nation to end half its marriages in one year is simply astounding, and the implications for future behaviour and family unity are breathtaking. These are the figures of a social system in total breakdown and family disintegration. Their family trees will start to more closely resemble crab grass than trees.

This is as it was in the days of Noah and of Sodom and Gomorrah. Sodom’s sins were not just sexual they were of affluence and indifference to the welfare of others; and that is what these Austrian/European figures tell us.

The social system is being broken down by corruption and organised crime that came with the fall of the Soviet Union added to the violence and wealth of the Western democracies. These corporate Mafias have corrupted the police forces of most of Europe and are moving westward. Police corruption is now highly organised in many countries. The fall of this system will rapidly accelerate and devour itself.

The statistics for divorce show that all second marriages seem to take the baggage of the first marriage with them, and half of those marriages again break down and often the cycle continues. The cycle impoverishes most of the people. The rare exceptions are reflected in the famous comment of Zsa Zsa Gabor, who said she was: “an excellent housekeeper. When I get divorced I always get to keep the house”. The males were not so amused by it all no doubt.

The wealth of the nations is being plundered and wasted by organised crime and business executives that plunder the hard-earned wealth of families. The families are now doing it to themselves. Such behaviour cannot last. There is now what is in effect a social revolution in Russia and Europe that will again contribute to the breakdown until there is nothing left. The society is built on the family, and as it is with the family so goes the society and the nations.

Drugs also contribute to the problem. The trade is controlled at the highest levels everywhere.

Decision-making is becoming aberrant and is contributing to the breakdown. No one wants to sacrifice for anyone else in a normal family situation, or so it seems on the figures.
The disintegration is now accelerating and will continue until Christ’s soon-coming occupation of the Earth and its reorganisation around the Laws of God.

Please pray for the world and its family systems.

Value the marriage you have and the family in which you are placed.

Look to see the value of your home and spouse and the simplicity of your life and the wealth that are your children and the brethren that are the Church of God as the Body of Christ.

Rejoice in thanksgiving for what God has given you and do not cast it lightly aside.
