Sabbath 13/11/27/120

Dear Friends,

This last week we saw the following news items. It comes as no surprise, and seems to be a deliberate self- inflicted wound. You will recall that before we invaded Iraq, we said that we would invade, and we said it would cost us all dearly, not in the invasion itself, but that we would lose far more people after the invasion in the protracted insurgent war that would follow.

The CIA has now worked out that Iraq is a base for terrorists. It was not a serious problem until after the invasion. Sometimes one thinks that we should have a special desk set up in the intelligence system called “Director of Cause and Effect”. The CIA made this problem into what it is.

Iraq biggest base for terrorists: CIA

Chaotic post-war Iraq has become the world's biggest training ground for the next generation of "professionalised" terrorists, says a CIA report.

Awash with weapons and politically unstable, Iraq has replaced Afghanistan as the country of choice for al-Qaeda and related terrorists to train, the document said.

Iraq provides terrorists with "a training ground, a recruitment ground, the opportunity for enhancing technical skills", said the report by the National Intelligence Council, the CIA director's think tank.

"There is even, under the best scenario, over time, the likelihood that some of the jihadists who are not killed there will, in a sense, go home, wherever home is, and will therefore disperse to various other countries," wrote David Low, the national intelligence officer for transnational threats.

The report, titled Mapping the Global Future, was based on a year-long analysis, including interviews with 1,000 US and foreign experts.

President George Bush has called Iraq the "central front" in the war on terrorism.

But critics argue that the terrorists arrived in Iraq after the US-led invasion.

There is no evidence that ousted dictator Saddam Hussein was ever linked to Osama bin Laden.

According to the report, seen by the Washington Post, hundreds of foreign terrorists flooded into Iraq across its unprotected borders soon after the invasion.

There, they found tonnes of unguarded weapons which they are now using against US troops.

Some of the foreign terrorists have formed loose alliances with Saddam loyalists and other insurgents.

"The al-Qaeda membership that was distinguished by having trained in Afghanistan will gradually dissipate, to be replaced in part by the dispersion of the experienced survivors of the conflict in Iraq," the report says.

It warns that the Iraq conflict had joined a list of other conflicts - including the Israeli-Palestinian stalemate, and independence movements in Chechnya and Kashmir - that had boosted support for radical Islam around the world.

The report also predicts that al-Qaeda will no longer be the top global terror threat by 2020.

Instead, Islamic extremist groups would merge with local separatist movements - and such mergers were already under way.

With these people directing and organising the West’s response to opposition, or resistance to globalisation, we can be confident that Al Qaeda will definitely not be the major threat in 2020. By 2020, if the west exists as it is now, the average citizen will be howling for the dismantling and the complete eradication of the Intelligence system, and a campaign of civil disobedience will be seen, the like of which the world has never seen. That is what they are really preparing for now. We seem to think that the way to solve these problems is to make sure we intrude more and more into the lives of the average citizen.

We have created a disparate network of terror cells all over the world, that will now increase in severity until a weak and frightened society calls for the introduction of the control system, and the total eradication of human freedom. That is the ultimate beast power, and people seem too simple-minded to understand what is happening to them.

Organised crime is a funny beast. It lives in neighbourhoods where crime is not tolerated. But it inflicts those aspects on areas where others live. Crime preys on the weaknesses and stupidity of the moralisers of this world. In the end, they will only be happy when there is not freedom at all, and then it will be someone else’s fault.

There are two works that were far ahead of their time, but were in fact, understatements of the reality of the problem. These works are Huxley’s Brave New World and Orwell’s 1984. Another work, The Kraken Wakes also touched on the horrors of the problem. They are suggested reading. The reality is much more serious and far-reaching than these works envisaged, although the problems they depicted were bad enough.

This is a prelude to the series on prophecy, and we will see from these series, a clear progression of the demonic imbecility of the religious misinterpretation, and the part it played in the undermining of the importance of the Bible message of the last days.
