Sabbath 21/10/27/120
Dear Friends,
This Sabbath we have the pagan New Year falling on the same day. This is the day of the beginnings of the god Janus for whom they name their month. This was never the New Year among the English-speaking people until the Eighteenth Century. Yet, to argue against it now is seen as a strange remote view of antiquity.
God quite clearly says that the beginning of the year is to be the first day of the month of Abib. Yet, even the Jews disobey God on that issue, trying to make the Babylonian festival of Rosh Hashanah the New Year. Why are the people who profess to be the followers of the Bible texts so disobedient, and so wilfully perverse in their application of the Scriptures? From the Jews to the Pentecostals we see the same perverse nature and misapplication of Scripture.
The perverse thinking of calling good bad and bad good is seen everywhere. Nowhere is it more apparent than in this Christmas-New Year period of the pagans. Remember from the paper The Origins of Christmas and Easter (No. 235), we see that the so-called New Year of 1 January is actually linked to the ancient system of the Solstice and the Saturnalia. This period is part of the pagan system of the ancients and is contrary to God’s Law.
We received a comment this last week that shows the bizarre nature of the thinking in the USA and Europe over these issues. The comments was as follows:

Thanks for it and congratulation[s] for such an (sic) rational explanation and freethinking. I wonder about your open-minded view, though you are calling yourself "Christian". In Europe or US you might be condemned or called Pagan for this article. In Australia freethinking seems to be possible also for Christians ...
Now this really is strange is it not? We produce an article on the truth of the origins of Christmas and Easter, and we are congratulated for free thinking. When is truth confined to freethinking? How is condemning a pagan festival, as being anti-biblical, grounds for the accusation of paganism? No doubt the way it is presented is often the way people are condemned. This person has no doubt come across the truth about this festival for the first time, and is challenged by this paradigm shift in his probably “standard” Roman Catholic education. The standard propaganda technique is to accuse someone else of what you are actually doing when they call you on it. Tell a big enough lie first and people will start to believe you after a while. That’s the way the Nazis worked and it is now standard practice.
The reality is that the world is becoming more enmeshed in this commercial season, and many are actually attending services less and less each year. There is a gradual severing of the Christian views from this festival now in the US. The idolaters, or Mariolaters are an exception. They have always worshipped the mother goddess, and this festival is enmeshed in her worship as we can see from the paper Origins of Christmas and Easter (No. 235). Soon the populace will abandon any pretence at Christianity in their pagan revelry in this period.
The real spirit of Xmas is seen in the malls and public places of the Western world. The day before Christmas Eve in the US, a homeless man was looking for assistance to fund a meal. He had missed out on a bed at the refuge and it was too late. He needed to eat in order to face the night in the freezing temperatures of the Northern USA winter. He asked everyone in the shopping mall restaurant for assistance in a polite and well-spoken manner. Everyone he approached refused him. Finally he approached the least affluent in the restaurant. They were a member of CCG and her daughter who funded him a meal. The only ones in the place who did not believe in Christmas and the season, were the only ones who provided him with assistance. “Be warm and filled my son” and the others went their own way. So much for the spirit of the season, as it is obviously not connected in the minds of the affluent. Indeed, the so-called Christians of today are more fierce and aberrant than those who claim no religion in these strange and troubling times. Their thinking is perverse and what we would term “double think” in cognitive dissonance.
This next year commencing in 1 Abib, which falls on 10 March 2005 in the pagan calendar is a Sabbath year. We are all to recover and to study God’s Laws and system. After that year, in the first year of the next Sabbatical cycle, God will commence to implement the next sequence of actions in His intervention in the last days of the world’s systems under Satan. In that cycle from the 29th year to the 35th year of the 120th Jubilee, we will see many changes and terrible catastrophes.
In the state of Georgia USA a series of stones were erected a few years ago that show the goals of the New World Order, and the occult forces associated with it. Two of the ten rules or laws of the system are: the maintenance of a stable world population at under 500,000,000, and reproduction being controlled and confined to the fit.
These goals of the New World Order will come about not because of their planning, but because of their insanity. How these tragedies will unfold over the next cycle and the following after the return of the Messiah, will be unfolded step by step over the year of the Reading of the Law in the 28th year, called 2005 by the world.
God will deal with His churches and their leaders in the period up to and during these catastrophes. We are being prepared for the return, and the world is being warned. God has declared the end from the beginning. Scripture cannot be broken.
In the next Sabbath Message we will deal with some of the bizarre teachings and views emanating from the Churches of God. Many are regressing with the age and industrial senility of their leaders, back into the illogical and cult-like world of the last two decades of Herbert Armstrong. We will deal with that issue and a number of case studies in the strange handling of matters in that system, so that we might all learn from the mistakes made in that time.
In the meantime, let the world leaders beat their pruning hooks into spears and their ploughs into swords. The sword will not depart from them until Messiah comes. Let them make their “New Year” pledges and their “New Year” resolutions. It is not in them to determine fully the course of events that they are about to face. God will deal with them all, step by step, as we progress now to the next Jubilee. Their planned horror will be brought down on their own heads, as Pharaoh judged Egypt out of his own mouth and lost his own firstborn. Let them construct the New World Order and the global economy. Let them declare the end from the beginning and see if it comes to pass. Let them try to reduce the world population. They will succeed in that aspect, and the awful reality of what these demons and their minions are up to, will dawn on the world too late.
We must prepare ourselves for the coming time of trials. Learn to love one another and work together for the faith. By this all men will know you. Show them that you love God, in that you love one another and are faithful to His word.
