April 27th, 2002
Dear Friends,
This Sabbath we might take time to reflect on our calling and also on the things
that we have had to address over recent weeks. I am most concerned that we get
the message God is hammering at us concerning self righteousness.
We will place the items that create the major problems with the faith and our
congregations everywhere on a check list that will be sent out and which will
be addressed as a reminder at the feast.
We are progressing steadily month by month, growing in the faith and reaching
others everywhere helping them to come to an understanding of the faith.
This growth is very significant. Today I checked the stats again and was surprised
to see that yesterdays stats were some 5.35 megs which is the highest single
days file we have had ever. The last highest days file was 4.5 megs and that
was not so long ago. The last half of April is steadily rising and now is well
above 3 megs and nearer four megs most days. We have had at least a ten percent
growth for April and it may be closer to twenty five percent. This growth is
quite significant. I will inform you of the end of month figures when they are
to hand.
We have had an increase in our promotions and our expenditure on web promotions
has increased which has no doubt caused the increase in access stats. When we
consider that we have grown now over five thousand percent on what we were in
1999, we should be well please with our coverage but we have not even scratched
the surface of the worlds population. We need to make more effort.
In that regard we should be conscious of the fact of our contributions to the
work and our tithing. We should ask if we are pulling our weight. Are we robbing
God? If we do not tithe we rob God. We are all trying as best we can to do the
work. Many work for no pay and tithe as well. Some offerings of the pensioners
are high and are widows mites. I would like to ask the coordinators to remind
the brethren of their obligations in the tithe. Most of the work is done by
the core faithful who bear the burden of the work on their shoulders and have
done for years. Have a look at your church area and ask the question do we consume
more that we give. In some cases that is all too true. I remind us all that
our capacity to work is directly proportional to the tithe we receive. Each
of us should ask ourselves Do I tithe and are my offerings indicative of my
calling? If the answer is no then we had better repent and get on with the work
we were given to do.
We have a translation work that is very important and needs maximum effort.
Are we helping and how can we help more. If we are not tithing then fixing that
will make an immediate impact on the work.
Please all try to make an effort in all aspects of the work that we find ourselves
working on and with others.
There is much to do.
Please pray for us all. The prayers of the brethren availeth much. Also please
pray for the others who have been baptised in the faith an are not yet with
us. Pray we are added to daily as the Lord permits. Ask for our brethren to
help and the numbers and funds to get the job done. Look at how you can help
in your area.
As this Pentecost season is coming up, all please look at what we are doing
and how we can help. Look at our fruits and see how we can improve. Encourage
one another.
Look at the use of the Holy Spirit.
Also please pray that we are able to confront and change the errors of the past
and the problems of the old Churches of God systems. Many of the ministers of
the old ways are not repenting and returning to the faith. Most are misrepresenting
Scripture to either introduce more error or to entrench old myths. Much of this
is due to the pursuit of money.
We must view our tasks and see how it is we can contribute either in research
or writing or translations or in funds or prayer or encouragement. Help those
who labour for you and do not be a burden but a joy.
Love one another and contend for the faith once delivered.
